Approval can take up to 2 weeks to process and is valid for 2 years, so take a moment to complete it well in advance of any planned volunteer opportunities.
Explore volunteer opportunities. Edison offers regular ongoing volunteer opportunities and special event opportunities. See below for further descriptions of these opportunities. Individual teachers may also request volunteers in their classrooms at their discretion throughout the year. Please feel free to contact your child's teacher to ask about opportunities in their classroom.
If provided, review instructions in advance. Please consider volunteering a serious commitment so our wonderful teachers are able to rely on your help to enhance their classroom. Arrive on time and ready to contribute to the classroom in a meaningful, interactive way!

Volunteer Opportunities

Ongoing Volunteer Opportunities:

FRIDAY FLOCK: Join 6-10 volunteers in the lunchroom immediately after drop off every Friday morning from 8:30-9:30 to organize Friday Folders, complete administrative tasks and manage the Lost and Found.

Engage

CAFETERIA/PLAYGROUND:: Extra hands and eyes are always needed to help keep our lunchroom and playground calm, kind and fun places to be. Engage with a crowd to help keep volumes low inside or start a rousing game of kickball.

OCEAN WEEK: One of the most amazing weeks of the year, Ocean Week magic requires many hands. Volunteer opportunities are plentiful this time of year and we will be sure to provide links to sign up for specific events.

- We are currently in search of an individual willing to take on the role of coordinator of this event. During COVID a teacher took this over from parent volunteers and it is now time to return this role to a parent volunteer. Please let us know if you are interested!

EDISON APPRECIATION: Parent Council will be reviving an Edison tradition this year with grade-led monthly appreciation events for our Edison Staff. Each month parents and other volunteers with students in the selected grade level will organize a small appreciation even such as a snack, pot-luck style meal or small token of appreciation. Let us know if you would like to contribute or help lead!

JOG-A-THON: Lace up your jogging shoes and help us get students to and from the running track safely. If you'd rather cheer from the sidelines, we need people to DJ and generally keep the event running smoothly.

EDISON COMMUNITY LEARNING GARDEN: Teachers have requested parent leadership to help develop and maintain our learning garden. Let us know if you would like to contribute or help lead!
