Parent Council Fundraising:
One of the primary responsibilities of the Edison Parent Council is to raise funds to enhance the educational lives of our children. We offer many diverse ways for families and the community to financially support Edison, enabling people to choose the manner and amount of support. Please consider donating any amount, large or small, and participating in community-based efforts for raising funds.
Direct Giving:
By far, direct donation on a monthly or annual basis is the easiest and most efficient way to support Edison. The more funds we can raise through direct donations, the more we can direct volunteer time to educational and enrichment activities rather than fundraising activities. We understand families have vastly different financial circumstances and appreciate any consideration of Edison in your giving process. We would love to provide as many opportunities to our community of children as possible and the more funds we have to use, the more opportunities we can provide. If 100 families give $25/month during the 2025/2026 school year ($250 annually), we would have $25,000 to work with to enhance educational opportunities at Edison in the 2026/2027 school year.
Edison in the Community:
Join us for fun events partnering with local businesses to benefit Edison Elementary School. Most events include dining in our community with a percentage of sales donated to Edison. The Edison in the Community Calendar will be updated as events are finalized with the goal of one per month during the school year.
JOG-A-THON

FAQs:
WHY FUNDRAISE?
The 4J school district budget is projected to decrease in the coming years. Community-generated funds and family contributions are increasingly relied upon to enable Edison to provide students with necessary classroom supplies and educational enhancements. Opportunities like field trips and artists-in-residence are available if our community chooses to prioritize them. If funding is cut to key support staff members we know help keep our school running safely and smoothly, it may become necessary to support Edison by funding support staff positions.
WHAT HAS EPC FUNDED IN THE PAST?
For the 2024/2025 academic year at Edison, with your help Parent Council was able to give $300 per classroom for supplies and $1000 per grade level to help offset the cost of field trips. We also helped fund an artist-in-residence to lead students in making new Ocean Week themed projects to help decorate the school for years to come. In addition, we were able to help cover the cost of special events at the school such as bringing Caesar the No Drama Llama in as a reward to for positive behavior. These are just a few examples of what we have been able to cover in the past year.
WHAT IS THE MOST TIME-EFFICIENT AND COST-EFFECTIVE WAY TO SUPPORT EDISON FINANCIALLY?
By far, direct donation on an annual or monthly basis is the easiest way to support Edison. The more funds we can raise through direct donations, the less time we will have to put into time-consuming fundraisers and, instead, we can direct that volunteer time to educational and enrichment activities.
SHOULDN’T PUBLIC EDUCATION BE PUBLICLY FUNDED?
Yes! If you believe, as Parent Council does, that public education should be better funded by public sources, we welcome you to join other Edison parents working towards this goal. Monthly Parent Council meetings are a good place to meet other parents involved with organizations or legislators that support increased school funding.
HOW MUCH SHOULD I GIVE?
We encourage you to consider giving what you are able. We understand families have vastly different financial circumstances and appreciate any consideration of Edison in your giving process. We would love to provide as many opportunities to our community of children as possible and the more funds we have to use, the more opportunities we can provide. If 100 families gave $25/month during the 2025/2026 school year ($250 annually), we would have $25,000 to work with to enhance educational opportunities at Edison in the 2026/2027 school year.
